A misty October morning on the North Yuba river shows off the Autumn colors in the Gold Country Foothills off Highway 49. This area of Highway 49, in the heart of Gold Country, that travels through Yuba County and Sierra County is well-known for its spectacular fall colors, including Black Oaks, Indian Rubarb, Big Leaf Maple, Locust and the brilliant colors of Dogwood. As you climb higher in elevation near Sierra City, the Quaking Aspens add their beautiful golden hues to the mix.
