Description
An hour before dawn on a clear Autumn morning, Mount Moran is seen in the background with some snow remaining from the first Autumn snowfall the previous weekend. The month of September brings frosty temps and usually the first snowfall of the season. Along with this change in the weather, the trees turn to luminescent shades of gold and orange and sometimes the brilliant reds of Hawthorn and Mountain Maples as they form the under canopy for the Aspens. The Autumn season is very short, and sometimes the peak color will remain for just a day or two if a stiff wind or heavy snowfall should occur. This year I was fortunate to have enjoyed one of the best fall years in a while with a few days of sunshine and warm daytime temperatures to get out and hike to enjoy the views of this incredible valley of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
